SUMMARY: "In a small town in Wyoming, people stop dying. "
MY THOUGHTS
*This is the ep where Pamela dies
*We get to see Sam use his powers in this ep. Alastair can't move him, and he can kick Alastair's butt. Pamela warns him against using them, telling them that he's mistaken about the good intentions he thinks he has.
*We get to see Tessa again! <3 Tessa! And she gives Dean back his memories of her in "In My Time of Dying"
*Loved the Karate kid references that the little kid didn't pick up on. Made me feel old too, Dean.
*Tessa warns Dean about the future. She warns him that maybe the angels are heading him for something nasty, and tells him that there's no such thing as miracles, and to stop lying to himself about it.
*Sam flat-out lies to the little kid. He knows that Tessa won't give him a free pass on the reaping thing. He just did what he had to do. Demon!Blood Sam is similar in some ways to Soulless!Sam (although not nearly as extreme)
*Sam and Dean kept this seal from being broken. There's one, anyway.
*Alastair insinuates that he got the scythe from Death. From what we know of Death now in Season 6, why would he have done that? I don't think Alastair is being completely honest with us there. *shock* ;) Also, I ike the irony of killing reapers with a scythe.
THINGS I LIKED ABOUT THIS EP
*Reapers!!! I LOVE REAPERS! And I love Tessa.
*Seeing the boys as spirits was amusing. Seeing them get hit by rock salt and all. Almost a taste of their own medicine sort of thing. :)
*I loved how Cass felt the need to pretend he was Bobby because Sam and Dean usually do 'exactly the opposite' of what the angels ask.
THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THIS EP
*Dean was being a bit of a jerk to Sam at the beginning. Sam isn't holding the things that Dean said while under the control of the siren against him, why is Dean? Let it go. I can understand why Sam is hiding his powers and training from Dean if Dean is going to act like that. It's not easy on Sam either, and Dean's just making it harder.
*Why do they have to kill Pamela? There's another strong, interesting woman who has to die. *sigh*
RATING
MOTW: A
OVERALL: A
(no subject)
Date: 14 December 2010 11:51 pm (UTC)I think what Sam said while under the influence was a little worse... The way to Dean's pain centers is through reminders of Hell (along with family threats and insults o'course). What Sam said was pretty terrible, especially since it's coming from Sam :(
Is this the only seal they keep unbroken?
Death didn't give Alastair the scythe. There's no way. Alastair or someone stole it.
I don't like how Show makes Sam's powers a bad thing.
