Little Things I noticed
* Some of the conversations between Sam and Dean are very reminiscent of Season 5 talks between Lucifer and Michael. All the stuff with Dean insisting that they must obey Dad no matter what, with Sam playing the rebellious one...planned or not, it fits beautifully with the overarching Season 5 plot.
* Why does Dean's phone ring when it gets a text? I know you can set them to do that, but in my experience, most people don't...
* This is the first mention we get of "orbs" - and I believe the last?
Things I Liked About this Ep
* The development of Sam and Dean's relationship. Good son vs. rebellious son (re: Lucifer and Michael). Dean's unquestioning devotion to John. Sam's obvious anger and resentment.
* Sam's rage. This is a part of his character that has always fascinated me. He seems so gentle on the surface, so much more so than Dean (until Season 6, of course, but that's just funky and next week had better explain what's going on...), and yet he has this burning rage inside him that erupts sometimes. It's almost like the gentleness is somehow overcompensation for the rage...the way he wants to be.
* I have to admit I was shocked when Sam pulled the trigger.
* I liked that the ghosts weren't trying to hurt them, they were just trying to give them information.
Things I Didn't Like About this Ep
* Would Sam really be stupid enough to go downstairs with that phone call, especially when even the audience could hear the static/EMP in the call?
* Would have liked to know exactly what Ellicot's therapy actually was...
