Little Things I Noticed
*This is the first time that they use cartridges filled with Rock Salt. Appears that's something Dean and Sam came up with when Sam was away.
*Dean infers that Sam was in college for four years. In the pilot he says he hadn't seen him in two years. Either Dean saw him while he was in college, or inconsistency here.
*This is the first time Sam shows any interest in a girl whatsoever since Jess. Of course, he just kisses her once and then tells her he can't...I assume it's because of Jess, but it could also be because of the lifestyle he knows he has to follow. It's never made clear.
*This is the first time we actually see them dig up a grave and salt/burn bones.
*Apparently spirits leave a smell of ozone?
Things I Liked About this Episode
*This was a pretty Solid M.O.T.W. episode. Took a fun urban legend and made it into an entertaining episode. I remember this ghost story scaring the crap out of me as a kid.
*Interesting twist that the spirit was latched onto the preacher's daughter and not the preacher.
*I love that Sam drinks fancy coffee. ;)
Things I Didn't Like About this Ep
*It didn't really tie in much to the overall plot. Yeah, it shows them at the beginning looking for their dad, but other than that, it's pretty much a stand alone episode.
*I didn't really understand why Sam looked sooooo upset at the end. I mean, yeah, he's leaving the girl, but he already told her that he couldn't do it, just a couple of days before. Is he upset because he wants to, but can't with his life? Or is he upset that he even wants to? What?
