Little Things I Noticed
*This is the second ep that mentions Indiana. The Mary in the mirror was a murder victim from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
*This is the first time we hear about Sam's precognitive dreams
*We find out here that Dean is good at poker - at least good enough to win a couple hundred dollars that they use to pay of the guy in the morgue...bookend to "The Curious Case of Dean Winchester" (5:07)
Things I Liked About this Ep
*This ep was really scary! IMO, it was the scariest one yet. Really, super creepy.
*Sam's angst. Love it. Love that he's still so upset about Jessica, love that he's still having nightmares about Jessica, love that it's this guilt that leads to the climax of the show.
*Also love that they use Sam's love for Jessica and his guilt to introduce the plot point of his precognitive dreams.
*Love that we see Jessica at the end, but it's never explained what she is. In Sam's mind? A ghost? WTF?
*Love that Sam doesn't tell Dean yet, it's too sore, hurts too much to share with his brother, even his brother he's "willing to die for."
*I love how Sam and Dean's relationship is really building through this ep, with Dean trying to talk Sam out of his guilt, with Sam's comment that he'd die for Dean, with Dean's initial refusal to let him use himself as bait. Really starting to seem like they care about each other. Love it.
Things I Didn't Like About this Ep
*The obvious visual allusion to "The Ring." That girl was straight out of "The Ring" and so was her crawling out of the mirror at the end. That was stupid in "The Ring" and it was stupid here, too. Although I did like how they were able to kill her with her own reflection. But that could have been done differently than so obviously parroting a bad horror movie.
*There were moments that 'creepy lighting' was back. Ack.
