Supernatural Rewatch - 2:03 'Bloodlust'

SUMMARY
"Is the only good vampire a dead vampire? Seems like a no-brainer. Then Sam and Dean discover a nest of undead who have foresworn drinking human blood...and need protection from an obsessed vampire hunter."

ORIGINAL AIRDATE
October 12, 2006

Little Things I Noticed

*This is the first ep where we see Gordon Walker.

*Vampires apparently are rare. Lenore talks about how they are 'nearly extinct'

*Have we ever seen Dean hit Sam before? I think this is the first time.

Things I Liked About this Ep

*Metallicar is back! I loved the first scene with Sam and Dean and the gratuitous Metallicar shots. Much better than the stupid mini-van.

*I liked the teaser. Even though it's a hunter chasing a vampire, it's the vampire who looks to be the victim (which is true). I remember it fooled me the first time.

*I like the whole theme of the episode, that there are shades of grey, that maybe not everything they've been killing is bad. That maybe there's room in the supernatural for something that's not evil...maybe even room for something good. Maybe being 'supernatural' doesn't automatically make something evil. I like this, love that they've introduced this possibility into the legendarium.

*Loved meeting a creature that they saved at the end instead of killed. Of course, we already have this somewhat with the Reapers, who aren't evil, but this drove it home better.

*Also loved seeing that maybe not all hunters are good.

Things I Didn't Like About this Ep

*The parts with Dean and Gordon dragged a little, I thought. I understand their need to talk and bond, but I don't think it had to go on quite so long.
