Little Things I Noticed

*Sam and Dean's conversation about their dad and the way Dean blindly follows him while Sam questions him is very, very Lucifer/Michael.

*Supernatural Vampire Lore: Daylight doesn't kill them, crosses don't hurt them, must be beheaded (or shot with the Colt). Vampires mate for life. Need blood to survive (although we find out later it can be animal).

*This is the first time we see the Colt.

Things I Liked About this Ep

*The vampires. I love vampires.

*Sam's conversations with his dad - both the ones where they're fighting and the ones where they talk about how similar they are. Especially like this one - where they talk about their similarities and John tells Sam about the college fund that he'd started for them, and how he was afraid Sammy would be all alone at college and worried about him. Good stuff.

Things I Didn't Like About this Ep

*John knows he's being a 'drill sergeant' to his boys, but it doesn't keep him from continuing to act that way...not telling them anything, ordering them around, actually honest to god giving them "orders." Ugh.

*The Colt feels a little bit like a deus ex machina...not too bad, though. Especially looking back on it, since it can't acutally kill EVERYTHING.

SALVATION

SUMMARY
"Meg's back. And she wants that gun. So she starts killing John's old friends one by one until he agrees to hand over the weapon - even if it means leaving his sons alone to battle the demon that killed their mother."

LITTLE THINGS I NOTICED

*I think this is the first time we see black Demon eyes (EDIT: Duh, no, we see Demon Eyes first in Phantom Traveller)

*Pastor Jim was mentioned in a flashback in "Something Wicked", as the person the boys were supposed to call if John didn't come home.

*Demon lore: There are signs when Demons appear. Not sure if this is true for all demons, or only small demons like Azazel.

*Meg isn't stopped by the Hallowed Ground, meaning she's a pretty high-up demon, which as Azazel's daughter, she would be.

*This is our first time seeing YED's yellow eyes

THINGS I LIKED ABOUT THIS EP

*I LOVED Sam and Dean's conversation in the hotel room when they're waiting for John to call. Loved his angst, loved seeing that side of his personality. Loved how Dean ranks family the most important of everything, because John and Sam are all he's got. Awww.

*I love seeing the Sammy!Rage.

*I loved seeing a little more detail of what must have happened the night Mary died.

THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THIS EP

*Meg. Meg. Meg. I generally like the women of SPN, but I just can't stand Meg. She's a horrible, horrible actress. I don't like her delivery of a single line. She overacts like crazy.

Little Things I Noticed

*Holy Water doesn't affect Azazel

*It looked like one of the demons was "contagious" - when it moved from the apartment resident to the firefighter.

*Demon Lore: We learn about Devil's traps.

*Bobby!! This is the first time we see him. :)

*Demons have children. Are they children from life, or demonhood?

Things I Liked About this Ep

*This was an exciting, fast-paced ep!

*The exorcism was cool. Sam's Latin even sounds good.

*Getting rid of Meg was even better.

*I liked how Dean could tell it was John because he was proud of him and John would never say that.

*I liked how John was able to get control of the Demon. He's the first person we see who's able to do this.

*I liked that Sam shot him in the leg, but couldn't kill him, even when he was begging. Was this because of what he was feeling, or because of Dean's begging.

Things I Didn't Like About this Ep

*Meg.

*They wrecked the Impala! *sob*
